Jodie isn't just the Voice behind Different at School — she's a mom, an educator and like you, someone who believes deeply in the power of education.

I’m Jodie Lee, a teacher, author, mom and founder of Different at School.

Different at School began with my daughter, Makenna, who has alopecia. As she started school, I wanted her classmates to understand what made her different without making her feel like she had to explain herself. So I wrote a book for her and that one story grew into something much bigger.

Today, Different at School creates books and resources that help kids feel seen while teaching others to lead with kindness, curiosity and empathy.

For me, this will always be about kids and making school a place where every child feels like they belong.
